About the Artist

Russ Gordon

While growing up in rural Ontario, Russ Gordon had the same dream that many Canadian boys have, to play professional hockey. While many friends were dreaming of being a N.H.L star, Russ Gordon was taking it one step further, he was sketching or painting pictures of his hockey heroes. When Russ was approached by My Little Champion Inc. to paint the Hockey Edition he was inspired. The concept brought him back and allowed him to mirror some of his past experiences into the works.

"This is a refreshing new concept that depicts what a child has experienced or what is in store for them through all stages of this wonderful sport. The My Little Champion series of paintings is an inspiration on its own. I had a chance to revisit some of my own fond memories while creating the scenes. I think the scenes will take you back in time, let you dream about the future or just warm your heart with images of our great frozen game."
